The Battle at the Border Tournament has become a fixture on the demanding Team NY schedule. Coaches come to recruit, and local fans come to enjoy quality amateur baseball. The tournament has grown in prestige since its inception in 2007, and we anticipate it will soon become a must attend for collegiate coaches to recruit, and high end summer teams to participate.” Ian Millman President, New York Nine
"Battle at the border is a great event we attend to recruit the best talent in the northeast to come south to play in the ACC. Port Chester Youth Baseball does an outstanding job putting it together and it is as organized as any event I've seen." Daniel Burton Recruiting coordinator University of Maryland

2012 Tournament Recap The 2012 Battle at the Border had a much different feel to it compared to years past. The perennial playoff teams were nowhere to be found come Sunday morning. Although the World Yacht Clippers, New York Nine, Connecticut Bombers, Long Island Titans and the Next Level Storm all performed well during bracket play, they all missed the playoff round. Instead the quarter finals had first time Battle participants like the Warriors, New Jersey Marlins, Ct. Xplosion Nationals and the Grand Slam Blue Rocks join Long Island Ducks, North East Baseball, Providence Sports and Leadership, and the New York Gothams who are all teams that have played previously in the Battle but had never been in the playoffs. Providence Sports knocked off the Xplosion National and then beat the Long Island Ducks in a 1-0 thriller to advance to the championship game. The Grand Slam Bluerocks continued their solid defensive play shutting out the Warriors and then beating the Marlins 3-1. In the final, the Bluerocks pitching proved as it did all weekend long to be the difference. The Bluerocks staff had allowed only 5 runs in the previous 5 games of the tournament. In the finals they did more of the same as they shut down Providence Sports to win the championship by a score of 3-0. The 2012 Battle at the Border attracted a record number of recruiters and scouts while raising money to provide local youth baseball players with an opportunity to participate in programs that they otherwise could not afford.
